As I have listened to The Pankey Institute's Financial Management Level I and Level II participants, as well as those who have participated in one-on-one financial discussions in Continuum Level 3 and Level 4, it has become apparent to me that there is a need to "coach" individual
dentists about what their practice numbers are saying
and how to strategically respond to them.
I believe we have an opportunity to accurately measure
and impact many of the variables contained in your
office operation through the use of the Management
Income Statement (MIS-Original) or the MIS Sigma Delta
spreadsheets - Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that I designed for you to easily record and learn from your practice's financial data and have made available to you via the Financial Management curriculum of The Pankey Institute's Continuum and "Pankey Tools" financial management software package. The discipline of evaluating the data needs to be encouraged for 12 to 36 months until it becomes a regular monthly discipline and of full value to the Dentist (who is the practice's
CEO) in the monitoring of a dental practice.
Based on my experiences at The Pankey Institute and from years of evaluating financials and coaching dentists, I am excited to offer the RUN
Program. This program's purpose is to enable you to "listen" to your
numbers, and plan an appropriate strategic response based on a true understanding; ultimately continuing this discipline, self-directed.
Here's how the RUN Program will work:
1. Communication: The RUN Program will preferably operate via email. Should
you need to use paper and pencil as you start, an additional fee will be required
to cover the costs of paper work, data entry, mailing, and postage.
2. Length of Program: Run will be offered to a limited number of participants
each year. It is anticipated that participants may desire to participate
in the program for more than one year in order to master the intricate
understandings of their operational data created with the MIS and to
mount an appropriate strategic response to their new understanding. Experience
tells me the pay off for continuing the "coached discipline" is substantial.
3. Timing: At the end of each month, you will compile your numbers in the MIS spreadsheet and send it to me via email.
4. Reports: The emailed MIS spreadsheet will be analyzed, interpretive color-coding and written comments will be made, and it will be emailed back to you for your study.
5. Feedback/Coaching: Included as part of the "RUN" Program, is a twenty-minute
telephone feedback session to clear up any of your questions regarding
the report as well as strategize an appropriate response to your data.
6. Expected Outcome: As we move forward collecting and interpreting your data, you will better understand the demands and rewards of the process and in time continue this discipline to intimately understand your practice operational numbers in a self-directed manner; my intent will be, in time, to work myself out of a monthly coaching job.
7. Subscription: The fee for a one-year subscription (twelve monthly
MIS "snapshots" with feedback) is $3,285. I request that the fee be paid at the beginning of our work together. You may want to sign a two-year subscription contract (twenty-four monthly MIS "snapshots")
with feedback in order to benefit from a reduced fee of $6,000 paid in
two $3,000 annual installments. You may begin your subscription at any
time because our work is not dependent on a calendar year.
8. Additional Coaching: If you wish additional coaching or consulting as an adjunct to RUN, we will reach a mutually acceptable agreement and determine a fee based on your needs.
